Environmental stewardship starts at home and carries through into business practices. These are the practices I use at home and at work.
- Digital documents
- Back-up copies of files are stored on external hard drives; not on paper copies
- I read online newsletter subscriptions, but refrain from printing hard copies. I encourage those who subscribe to my newsletter, The Artist’s Statement, to reduce paper waste by making the same choice.
- Printing – only essential hard copies are printed
- Draft or Economy setting is used in order to reduce ink consumption
- Both sides of the paper are used when possible
- Reusing printed materials for scrap paper
- ‘Opt-Out’ of Direct mail/Junk mail to reduce paper
- Recycle and compost whenever possible
- Recycle electronics
